Instantaneous acceleration is acceleration at a certain time. It can be found by taking the derivative of velocity.

So for example, let's say we have a velocity function of v(t)=3t^2+7 and we want to find the acceleration at t=3. All we have to do is take the derivative of that and plug in 3. So our instantaneous acceleration function would be:

a(t)=6t

And plugging in 3 would give:

a(3)6(3)=18
