What powers the water cycle?
The energy of the sun creating evaporation that raises water vapor into the atmosphere that then has potential energy when it falls.
The water cycle is powered by the sun. The energy of the sun causes the water on lakes, streams, and oceans to evaporate and become water vapor. The water vapor rises in the atmosphere to form clouds.
The water vapor in the clouds then drops down with kinetic energy. The precipitation forms on mountains and plains. The water then flows downhill. The water forms again in lakes, streams and oceans, as well as in the water the accumulates in the soil.
The energy of the sun creates this water cycle of water evaporating, precipitating , and forming bodies of water.
