Explanation:

When we burn fuels (suppose methane gas (CH4)), carbondioxide (and water) forms. In the atmosphere (since CO2 is a gas), some part of it becomes carbonic acid via some reactions. CO2 gas is taken up by photosynthetic plants. It is converted into oxygen. Oxygen in the atmosphere is used by lost of consumers (humans and animals) and they produce CO2.
