color(blue)((4xx9)/2) color(red)(+ (-4+6))

= color(blue)(18) color(red)(+2)

=20

Note:

color(blue)((4xx9)/2) can be worked out as:

color(blue)((36)/2) = 18

or: color(blue)((cancel4^2xx9)/cancel2)

= 2xx9 = 18
