The standard form for a linear equation is #y=mx+c#
(Note: some textbooks show this as #y=mx+b#, but they are the same idea.)

The #m#, is the slope or gradient.

And the #c# (or #b#), is the y-intercept. For y-intercept the #y# value is the important one, (the second number).
