#y=3(x^2+1)^(-1)#

Apply the chain rule - derivative of the "outside term" times derivative of the "inside term":
#y'=-3(x^2+1)^(-2)(2x)#

Simplify
#y'=(-6x)(x^2+1)^(-2)#

#y'=(-6x)/(x^2+1)^2#
