Plot the lines separately on the same graph then read the point of intersection.
#(x,y)=(0,-1)#

Explanation:

The equation #y=-x-1#
#color(white)("XXX")#has intercepts at #(0,-1)# and #(-1,0)#
so its graph would look like the image on the left below.

The equation #y=2x-1#
#color(white)("XXX")#has intercepts at #(0,-1)# and #(1/2,0)#
so its graph would look like the image in the middle below.

Combining the two into a single graph gives the image at the right below.
Notice the point of intersection at #(0,-1)#
