$(1,4)$ not a solution to either equation

Let's just plug $x=1$ and $y=4$ into these equations. For the first equation, we get

$4=3(1)-2=>4=1=>4!=1$

Since $4$ is obviously not equal to $1$ , $(1,4)$ is not a solution to this equation. What about our second equation?

$y=-x$

Let's plug in our values. We get

$4=-1=>4!=-1$

Since these values are not equal, the point $(1,4)$ is not a solution to the equation.
