How do you find ordered pairs that is a solution for the equation 4x – 3y = 12?

There are many .. (6, 4) (9 , 8) etc

Explanation:

First change the equation into an easier form:
3y = 4x - 12
y = 4/3x - 4

Now choose values of x and substitute to find y.

However, it will be easier to use multiples of 3 for values of x.

eg. If x = 6, then y = 4/3 xx 6 - 4 = 4 rArr (6,4)

If x = 9, then y = 4/3 xx 9 - 4 = 8 rArr (9,8) and so on.
