Why is osmosis a unique form of diffusion?

Because osmosis is the diffusion of water.
Osmosis will move water from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration.

Here is a video of a lab conducted to test osmosis in eggs placed into different solutions.

Water flowed out of the egg which was placed into syrup because the inside of the egg has a higher amount of water than syrup has.
Water flowed into the egg which was placed in distilled water because the distilled water is 100% water and the inside of the egg has a lower amount of water.
