For this question it would be simplest to find the slope and then plug it into the point slope form

Explanation:

m = # (-5 - 4) / (-3 -( -1) #
m = #-9/ -2#
m = #9/2#

Point slope form formula:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
Say we pick the point (-1,4)

y - 4 = #9/2#(x - (-1))

y = #9/2x# + #9/2# + 4

y = #9/2x# + #17/2#

Your slope intercept form equation is y = #9/2x# + #17/2#
