A quicker and easier method is to use the formula for the equation of a straight line if you have 2 points:

(y-y_1)/(x-x_1) = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)

(y- 0)/(x-(-2)) = (8 -0)/(2-(-2)

y/(x+2) = 8/4 = 2/1 " cross multiply"

y = 2x + 4
