Explanation:
If not stabilized, river banks are subject to erosion due to river flow. In most cases, upstream locations are composed on rocky and compacted zones. But there are exceptions of course. These zones provide particles (mainly rocks, boulders) due to water movement. While these particles are moved in the river canal only in high flow (flood) events, they are minimized in size.
River bed material is another material that is subject to river erosion especially under high flow events. The transported material is stored wherever conditions allow. The most important parameters in river bed material erosion is river slope, flow rate, cohesion-adhesion of particles, water temperature, etc.
River bank erosion may occur if people do not care river management properly.
