Component along x axis is 9.1844 and component along
y axis is -22.1731.

Explanation:

If general form of polar coordinates are (r, theta), component along x axis is rcostheta and along y axis is rsintheta.

As such component along x axis is 24*cos(-3pi/8)

i.e. (24*0.3827) or 9.1844

and component along y axis is 24*sin(-3pi/8)

i.e. (24*0.9329) or -22.1731.
