If general form of polar coordinates are #(r, theta)#, component along #x# axis is #rcostheta# and along #y# axis is #rsintheta#.

As such component along #x# axis is #24*cos(-3pi/8)#

i.e. #(24*0.3827)# or 9.1844

and component along #y# axis is #24*sin(-3pi/8)#

i.e. #(24*0.9329)# or -22.1731.
