Component along $x$ axis is $9.1844$ and component along
$y$ axis is $-22.1731$ .

If general form of polar coordinates are $(r, theta)$ , component along $x$ axis is $rcostheta$ and along $y$ axis is $rsintheta$ .

As such component along $x$ axis is $24*cos(-3pi/8)$

i.e. $(24*0.3827)$ or 9.1844

and component along $y$ axis is $24*sin(-3pi/8)$

i.e. $(24*0.9329)$ or -22.1731.
