see a solution process below;

Explanation:

Since we are asked to solve for #m# it thens mean that we have to look for the subject formula of #m#

#V = (mv1)/[M + M]#

First, we have to simplify the equation;

#mv1 = mv, (mv xx 1 = mv)#

#M + M = 2M, (1M + 1M = (1 + 1)M = 2M)#

Now we are having;

#V = (mv)/(2M)#

Secondly, cross multiplying both sides..

#V/1 = (mv)/(2M)#

#V xx 2M = mv xx 1#

#2MV = mv#

To get #m# standing alone, we have to divide it with its coefficient, in this case #v# is the coefficient..

Divide both sides by #v#

#(2MV)/v = (mv)/v#

#(2MV)/v = (mcancelv)/cancelv#

#(2MV)/v = m#

#:. m = (2MV)/v#

Hope this helps!
