The length of the rectangle is 24cm and the width is 6cm.

Let $L =$ $L =$ the length of the rectangle and $W =$ $W =$ the width.

If the length is four times the width, then $L = 4 W$ $L=4W$

The formula for perimeter $P$ $P$ is $L + L + W + W = P$ $L+L+W+W=P$ or

$2 L + 2 W = P$ $2L+2W=P$

Substituting $4 W$ $4W$ for $L$ $L$ and $60$ $60$ for $P$ $P$

$2 (4 W) + 2 W = 60$ $2(4W)+2W=60$
