Is the Socratic app woefully inept at solving math problems?
I tried the app on approximately 40 high school math questions and it failed miserably on all of them. It either gives an answer to a different question, or just gives links to websites so you can learn it there. I don't understand why people think this is amazing, it really isn't. Why dosen't the Socratic team focus more on this site, than waste their time on something that has very little practical use. Any opinions?

Hi Tom!
The Socratic app definitely doesn't excel at all types of math yet. Any chance you could share the 40 problems you tried it out on? That kind of feedback helps us figure out where the biggest gaps are and how to keep improving it.
I think a big part of the utility of the app for students is the ability to search a math problem via photo. Typing math notation into Google is pretty painful, and sometimes it's not even possible. So even being able to take a photo of a problem and get results from different websites can be helpful for students, I think. That said, we know the app still has big strides to make!
