Explanation:

To find this fact without drawing graph you need to know, that for every linear function #f(x)=ax+b#

1) If #a>0# and #b=0# then the graph lies in 1st and 3rd quadrant, if #b>0# graph lies also in 2nd quadrant, else if #b<0# graph lies in 4th quadrant,

2) If #a<0# and #b=0#, graph lies in 2nd and 4th quadrant, if #b>0# then graph goes also through 1st quadrant, else if #b<0# graph lies in 3rd quadrant.
