We know that

#y = k/x#, so

#k = xy#

If #x = 6# and #y = -8.5#,

#k = 6 × (-8.5) = -51#. So

#y = (-51)/x#

If #x = -2.5#,

#y = (-51)/(-2.5) = 20.4#
