Given -

#y=x-7# -----------(1)
Find the two intercepts

y- intercept

At #x=0; y=0-7=-7#

#(0, -7)# is a point on the curve

x-intercept

At#y=0; x-7=0; x=7#

#(7, 0)# is another point on the curve.

Plot them and join them with the help of a straight line

#y=-2x+5#----------(2)

Find the two intercepts

y-intercept
At #x=0; y=-2(0)+5=5#
