$y=-2x-6$ ------------(2)

Substitute $y=2x+10$ in equation (2)

$2x+10=-2x-6$
$2x+2x=--6-10$
$4x=-16$
$x=(-16)/4=-4$

Substitute $x=-4$ in equation (1)

$y=2(-4)+10$
$y=-8+10=2$
