$because, y=-8x,$ we substitute $-8x for y$ in $2x+4y=0$ & get,

$2x+4(-8x)=0 rArr 2x-32x=0 rArr -30x=0 rArr x=0/-30=0.$

Accordingly, $y=-8x=-8(0)=0.$

Thus, $x=0, y=0$ is a Soln.

Also, these roots satisfy the given eqns.
