The solution for the system of equations is
color(blue)(x=-1,y=5

Explanation:

xcolor(blue)(-y)=-6......equation 1
x+color(blue)(y)=4...........equation 2

Adding the two equations results in elimination of color(blue)(y

xcancelcolor(blue)(-y)=-6
x+cancelcolor(blue)(y)=4

2x=-2

x=(-2)/2

color(blue)(x=-1

Finding y from equation 1
x+y=4

y=4-x

y=4-(-1)

y=4+1

color(blue)(y=5
