y = 4x^2 + 8x + 3 = 0
Use the improved quadratic formula (Google, Yahoo Search)
D = d^2 = b^2 - 4ac = 64 - 48 = 16 --> d = +- 4
There are 2 real roots:
x = -b/(2a) +- d/(2a) = -8/8 +- 4/8 = (- 8 +- 4)/8
x = -12/8 = - 3/2
x = -4/8 = -1/2
