As #1/x-1/y=-5/6#, we have #1/x=1/y-5/6#

substituting #1/x# in first equation we get

#3(1/y-5/6)+2/y=-5/6#

or #3/y-15/6+2/y=-5/6#

or #5/y=10/6#

or#10y=30# and #y=3#

Hence #1/x=1/3-5/6=(2-5)/6=-3/6=-1/2#

i.e. #x=-2#
