Explanation:

When working with decimals, you cannot divide BY a decimal.
Change the numbers to:

#0.4/1.8 xx 10/10 = 4/18#

#10/10 = 1# so by multiplying by 1, we are not changing the value of the numbers or the the division, only what they look like.

#4/18 = 2/9#

The answer can be left as #2/9# which is an exact answer, or by dividing 2 by 9, we get the recurring decimal 0.222222.....
