To normalise a vector we divide each of its elements by the length of the vector. First find the length: #r=sqrt((-3)^2+1^2+(-1)^2)=sqrt11~~3.3#. The normalised vector can be written as #((-3)/sqrt11i+1/sqrt11j-1/sqrt11k)# or #(-3/3.3i+1/3.3j-1/3.3k)#.
