Multiply the terms two at a time:
#(x-1)(x+4)#
#=(x-1)*x+(x-1)*4#

#=x^2-x+4x-4#

#=x^2+3x-4#

therefore
#(x-1)(x+4)(x-3)#
#=(x^2+3x-4)(x-3)#

#=(x^2+3x-4)*x - (x^2+3x-4)*3#

#=(x^3+3x^2-4x) - (3x^2+9x-12)#

#=x^3-13x+12#
