$y=2x-5$ is a line. Determine the two points that this line intersects with the axes then connect these points to graph it.

Given $y=2x-5$

Set $y=0$ then solve for the abscissa

$y=2x-5$
$0=2x-5$
$2x=5$
$x=5/2$

We now have the point $(5/2, 0)$

Set now $x=0$ then solve for the ordinate

$y=2x-5$
$y=2(0)-5$

$y=-5$

We now have the point $(0, -5)$

We now simply draw a line passing thru the two points $(5/2, 0)$ and $(0, -5)$
