Zeros of 4x^2+4x-6 are (-1/2-sqrt7/2) and (-1/2+sqrt7/2)

Explanation:

In 4x^2+4x-6, as the discriminant is 4^2-4*4*(-6)=(16+96)=-112, is not the square of a rational number, we cannot factorize it by splitting middle term and for finding zeros will have to use quadratic formula. Further, as it is positive zeros will be irrational conjugates.

Zeros of quadratic trinomial 4x^2+4x-6 as zeros of ax^2+bx+c are given by (-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/(2a).

Hence zeros of 4x^2+4x-6 are

(-4+-sqrt112)/(2xx4) or

(-4+-4sqrt7)/8 or

-1/2-sqrt7/2 and -1/2+sqrt7/2
