How do you find the x and y intercepts of g(x)=0.5x-3g(x)=0.5x3?

To find the xx- intercept, we set y=0y=0 and solve for xx:
0=.5x-30=.5x3
3=.5x3=.5x
6=x6=x

So. the xx-intercept is (6, 0)(6,0)

To find the yy-intercept, it's a similar system We set x=0x=0 and solve for yy this time.
y=.5*0-3y=.503
y=-3y=3
That was easy :)

So, our yy-intercept is (0, -3)(0,3)

Just to double check our work, let's graph the equation and see the xx and yy intercepts

Yep, (6, 0)(6,0) and (0, -3)(0,3). We were right!
