A product is the answer to a multiplication.

In algebra #x xx x^7 = x^(1+7) = x^(8)#

"If the bases are the same and you are multiplying, add the indices."

However, the bases can have any value, they do not only have to be variables.

In this case, #6 xx 6^7 = 6xx6xx6xx6xx6xx6xx6xx6 = 6^8#

This is fine as the final answer, but if you multiply it out it is:

#1,679,616#

There is little point in doing so, because we know very little about this number in this form.

#6^8# is far more useful.
