y^2 + 3y -2y -6y2+3y2y6

We can make groups of two to factorise this expression:
color(blue)((y^2+3y) - color(red)((2y + 6)(y2+3y)(2y+6)

color(blue)(yy is common to both the terms in the first group, and color(red)(22 is common to both the terms in the second group:

We can write the expression as :
y(y + 3) - 2(y+3)y(y+3)2(y+3)

=color(green)((y+3)(y-2)=(y+3)(y2) , is the factorised form.
