We factor this expression by making groups of 2 terms
#= (5x + xy) + (2y +10)#

Now we take the common factors out from each group
# = x( 5 + y) + 2( y+5)#

#( 5 +y)# is a common factor to each of the terms now:

# = (5+y)(x+2)#
