How do you factor by grouping 5x + 2y + xy + 10?

5x + 2y + xy + 10

We factor this expression by making groups of 2 terms
= (5x + xy) + (2y +10)

Now we take the common factors out from each group
= x( 5 + y) + 2( y+5)

( 5 +y) is a common factor to each of the terms now:

= (5+y)(x+2)
