Separate the coefficients and the exponents and process them separately (then re-combine)

#(8xx10^5)/(2xx10^-2)#
can be written as #8/2 xx (10^5)/(10^-2)#

#8/2 = 4#

#10^5/10^(-2) = 10^5*10^2 = 10^7#

Recombining
#(8xx10^5)/(2xx10^-2) = 4 xx 10^7#
