Sec 45° = (sqrt2)/1 = sqrt2

Explanation:

A 45° angle is found in a right-angled isosceles triangle.
The sides of the triangle will be in the ratio 1 : 1 : sqrt2

There are six trig ratio's,

Sec is defined as "hypotenuse"/"adjacent"

Sec is also the inverse of Cos.

cos 45° = 1/sqrt2

Sec 45° = (sqrt2)/1 = sqrt2
