$x=25/2$ $y=-23/4$

suppose,
$x+2y=1.......................................................(i)$
$6x=29-8y..................................................(ii)$

from $(ii)$ we can find,

$6x+8y=29..................................................(iii)$

now,
$6xx(i)-(iii)=>$
$cancel(6x)+12y=6$
$cancel(6x)+8y=29$
...............................
$=>4y=-23$
$=>y=-23/4$

now, putting $y=-23/4$ in $(iii)$ we get,

$6x-46=29$

$=>6x=75$

$=>x=25/2$
