Arrange the equation and get your solution

Multiply the first equation by -1:

#4x + 2y = -14#
The second equation is the same:
#-4x - 15y = -1#

Now combine these

#2y -15 y= -14 -1#

#-13 y= -15#

#y=15/13#

Put this value in any equation (I used the first one):
#-4x - 30/13 = 14#

#-4x = 14 + 30/13#

#-4x = (182+30)/13#

#-4x = 212/13#
