3x-4y=7 -----------------(2)
Solve equation (1) for
2x-y=4
-y=4-2x
y=-4+2x
Substitute
3x-4y=7
3x-4(-4+2x)=7
3x+16-8x=7
-5x=7-16=-9
x=(-9)/(-5)=9/5
x=9/5
Substitute
2x-y=4
2(9/5)-y=4
18/5-y=4
-y=4-18/5
-y=(20-18)/5=2/5
y=-2/5
