How do capacitors work in a circuit?

Capacitors act as charge storers,when you connect them with a battery,charge is stored until its voltage difference at the two ends is similar to that of the charging battery,and when you connect them with an empty capacitor they can charge it as well.
While connecting across a resistor or inductor,you get an RC and LC circuit respectively,where oscillation of charge occurs between the two,and relations are their to derive current flowing in the circuit,charge of the capacitor etc.
