If $r=2$ , then $t_10/t_7=2^(10-7)=2^3=8$

If $t_10/t_7=8$ , then ...

$8=(x-23)/(5x+2)$

Now, solving for x ...

$x=-1$

Finally we can find $t_10=x-23=-1-23=-24$
