This is a ratio problem.

Explanation:

$112div8h=Xdiv40h$112÷8h=X÷40h or ($112)/(8h)=X/(40h)$1128h=X40h

Cross-multiply: Xxx8h=$112xx40hX×8h=$112×40h

Divide by 8h8h: X=($112xx(5xxcancel8)cancelh)/(cancel8cancelh)=$112xx5=$560

Note :
Of course you could have seen that 40=5xx8 so the money would also be 5xx as much.

Or you could have set up the ratio differently:

(40h)/(8h)=X/($112)->5=X/($112)->X=5xx$112
