They are genes in an organism's genome that cause the death of the carrier organism. Every now and then a mutation occurs in genes that are responsible for growth and development of the specific organism. They can be dominant or recessive and they can cause the organism's death before or at any time after ,but in most cases if the organism doesn't die at birth the death of if comes short after.
