Well, yes....
Explanation:
The Van der Waals equation attempts to refine the ideal gas equation by introducing constants that (i) accounted for the size of the gaseous particles, and (ii) accounted for interactions between gaseous molecules....and I think they teach this in second year.
Anyway at low to moderate pressures, and moderate temperatures, the Ideal Gas equation is a reasonably accurate, and certainly useful equation of state.
