Although the question looks confusing, it is just because of the fractions which have been given,

Consider the following:
A car travels $120$ miles in $2$ hours,

We can easily see that
$120$ miles is a distance and $2$ hours is a time.

We can calculate the speed of the car:

Therefore in $1$ hour the car travels $60$ miles

The snail:
covers a distance of $1/50$ of a mile in a time of $5/6$ of an hour.

We can calculate the speed of the snail:
