Not sure why this question is in this topic; I believe it should be placed in the "power rule" section...

Nevertheless, we can rewrite this equation as:

${x}^{\frac{1}{2}}$

Apply the power rule:

$\frac{d}{\mathrm{dx}} \left({x}^{\frac{1}{2}}\right) = \frac{1}{2} {x}^{- \frac{1}{2}}$

$= \frac{1}{2 \sqrt{x}}$
