The karma system was designed to give contributors an idea of how their contributions are helping make Socratic a better place to learn.
Karma is a reward for helping others, not a goal in and of itself.
There will be no update that allows you to pick up karma by playing. The purpose of Socratic is to help teach the world. There are plenty of other websites out there that can take care of the playing part.
