See the explanation.

Explanation:

[Sample Question] There is an interface of air and water, and light traveles toward the water.
If the angle of incidence is 45°, what is the angle of refraction?
Assume the relative refractive index of water is 1.33.

[How to solve?]
Using Snell's law helps you with these types of questions.

sintheta_1/(sintheta_2) =v_1/v_2 = λ_1/λ_2 = n_2/n_1

In the sample question, substitute θ_1=45°, n_1=1.00 and n_2=1.33.

(sin45°)/(sinθ_2) =1.33/1.00
sinθ_2=(sin45°)/1.33=1/sqrt(2) * 1/1.33 = 0.532
θ_2=32°.
