The ray of light that is touching the object is called incident ray . As you can see this incident ray touches the mirror and the mirror sends this ray of light back. This light ray is called the reflected ray . The angle formed between the incident and normal is called angle of incidence and the angle formed between the reflected ray and normal is called angle of reflection.
Reflection of light follow the laws of reflection which are written down below:-

  • Angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
  • The incident ray, normal and the reflected ray all lie in the same plane.
