Castle Hardy Weinburg for the female population only:
#1 = q^2 + 2*p*q + p^2#
#1 = q + p#
where it tells you that
#p = 0.3" "# and#" "q = 0.7# .
Carriers are heterozygous females, so:
#"heterozygous" = 2 * p * q = 2 * 0.3 * 0.7 = 0.42#
